Pendant "From the river to the Universe"

This pendant was born since two pieces of silver joint together by the wire which conform the perimeter of the river stone. By its own way, the river stone give us a different color surface make it by different color and tones points, forming a beautiful and compact universe.

This structure, this joint made by the stone and its different tones and colors plus the metal pieces made me think on one hand we are made by a lot of small pieces, closed by our own dreams, complex, feelings, ideals, and much more confined by other people who surrounding us…. By the other hand, we were being parts of a big universe, joint by invisible and powerful wires with the rest of the universe, affected by our own actions and decisions.

The wire joint the silver pieces, let´s the river stone stay firmly in its position, the curves which remember me the water flowing constantly between the rocks in the river as the life which continuous its way, as the universal energy flows between and across us, taking us by the life way.

Making this pieces is a great experience, since the moment began to design … I love the Stone and I don´t like to cover it in any way, I have to think how let´s it free, the two silver pieces are the right way. Next I have to figure out how maintain the joint metal and the stone…. The wire come alive!. Then, a lot of hard work until I finish the pendant in the way I dream it.

I´m satisfy with the jewel, it was a good experience !!!!.

Pendant "Playing and the fossil wood"

This silver piece was an unique design who was born from playing, a play between the tools, the metal and me playing like a little child twisting the metal, making a different direction each stretch, seeing how the metal answer to the pressure I make it and then I will play with texture. This is an unique piece, totally designed and elaborated by me using silver 925.

The piece which charm this pendant is a beautiful fossil special shape Wood, originated in Costa Rica, is a reflection of this country, full of primary and secondary forest, with beautiful and exuberant natural biodiversity which survive the human touch, thanks a God this biodiversity became protected. The wood is supported by a based and surround by a square wire of silver which sustained it in position. In this design you can observe the two faces of wood.

This pendan was created as part of the course I was taken, was the design I choose for the chase practices.

I think is a simple design a mast cross by different size silver wire, every chase are 90 degree I mean, any complication, I have to be focus on technique and do it well. Again all my energy is focus on technique and listening the teacher, no matter the design, as happen with other pieces on my collection. In this way the pendant is made by itself during the accomplish goals.

The three chase was well done and finally took time for draw the design, I took the pencil and the paper and try to maintain me focus drawing lines and then the swift sailing was there. The sails tense because of the wind blow, that tens sails which impulse our lives forward. That´s the way I began to make the small sails and then I had to confront the challenge of soldering all pieces in its finally position. Some sails in one position, some in other, remembered me the different ways of our route and the times we have to stop or change our paths in live. I had to face the torch, the soldering process and the flame in order to accomplish the challenge and fix permanently the sails.

Finally, all sails were in the correct place, then I had thinking in adorn the piece and accomplish the new challenge to learn how to made a besel and put the stone in place, this beautifull obsidian stone.

When I finished, I felt proud of me looking the piece, !it was really beautiful !, much than it looks on paper.

Now the piece are far far away in somebody else hands, she is enjoying it and I hope the wind blow over the sails make the right impulse to her live and taken her directly to accomplish her dreams.
